what car is it? Do you think the punch there is comparable to a vmax?

I have heard todd leave the start line at the dragstrip and I can attest that he sounds just like the fat chick in the video. :rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

LOL. Yes, the first time you get to launch with any real good traction and power it's fun. The 1.23-1.25's 60' time I get on the drag bike are incredibly fun. The first time I got to make a full pass with it I was laughing all the way down the track!

Yep, those first few hundred feet are my favorite too!

Driven an older Skyline a few times when I was stationed in Okinawa... It was a FRIGGIN BLAST! I can only imagine what a brand new GT-R would be like. On question though... does the GT-R have a regular shifter available, or has this become another junkpile POS with paddle shifting?

About a year-ago I bought a Harley 7" headlamp lens/light bulb for a project I eventually did to my bike, and the guy had a brand-new Skyline GT-R in the garage. He was a pharmaceutical salesman. It was the first GT-R I'd seen. Very-impressive static; running, even-more, apparently! He also had a couple-year-old H-D dresser which he said he traded in about every 3 years for the next one.

I recall the first time I went for a ride in my friend's Porsche 911T which had been built by another acquaintance's shop. The shop built and maintained the guy's IMSA Chevy-March GTP cars w/which he won the driver's and manufacturer's championship in the 1980's. The 911 was a total rebuild, and had steel flaired fenders, one of the nicest paintjobs I've ever seen, a dark candy-apple red done by the guy who painted the IMSA cars. The engine was a turbo, w/a 4-speed, and that's all it needed, four speeds. When it came-on boost, it was like the hand of God reached-down and flicked that tach needle, hard. Even at triple-digit speeds, that car would accelerate to impress. I seriously-considered buying that when he decided to sell it, but I bought another house, instead, which was the better move.

Not only did it reach 60 mph in 2.7 seconds in Nissan's testing, but it made the sprint through the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds, a full 0.4 seconds faster than the 2012 model we tested in February, using 100 RON octane gas (96 octane using the U.S.' AKI ratings).

looks like a high 10 second missle!

I've not had the experience most of you have had, but the fastest car I've ever been in was a '56 Chevy. I used to bounce at this honky tonk in Hattisburg, Mississippi. One of the regulars, by the name of Vinoy Graham, ran a slaughter house up in Petal, Ms. Well this guy and his brother had a long history of hot rods and drag racing. And this '56 Chevy used to be a beast back in the '70s. I don't know much about drag racing on a national scale, but at one point this car used to be in the top 3 fastest for whatever respective class it was in nationally.

The car was a legend in the area. Everyone just called it "The 56." The guy had a fleet of beautiful hot rods. So each night he came to the club it was always a question of "What did he drive tonight?" I had heard so much about 'The 56' but had never actually seen it.

Then one night I lucked out and he drove it to the club. It was surprising. All of the immaculate hot rods he drove, 'The 56' looked so understated. It had the look of a barn find halfway through a restoration. I think he did that on purpose... making his fastest car look the most deceptive. He knew I wanted a ride in it, so he asked me "Wanna take the '56 for a spin?" Of course I jumped at the chance.

I ran over to the passenger side door and waited for him to unlock it. He smiled at me and said "Wrong door" as he tossed me the keys. I caught the keys but was frozen in shock and slight fear for a few seconds.

I eventually found myself in the car although I remember as I sat in the drivers seat of asking myself "How did I get here?" The moment between catching the keys and getting in that seat was almost like a blackout. I was nervous as hell.

So I start it up and it was like poking a dragon. I say dragon because I have no idea what a dragon roar would really sound like, and I had never heard an engine like this -- holy ****. Putting that car in gear felt like strapping myself onto a bull who has yet to get pissed off.

I gently pull out onto Hwy 49 and get up to 45mph when some late 80s model Camaro zooms by... I looked over at Vinoy and he grinned and said "Get him". I think I know how an astronaut feels during a launch. It was amazing.
