Ok guys, ive got the ole 85 up and running and pretty much road worthy except one thing...TIRES! Was wondering if any of you have any special brand tire that you like and works well with the max.I dont want too sticky, because i wanna get some miles out of them.
And,while im here, ive been looking into some wave rotors for the beast as well. What are your guys thoughts, and what brand should i go with?
As always,all input is appreciated.........(Damn mod monkeys!):rofl_200:

I like the Metzler ME 880 and get good milage out of them. I had better let someone else advise you on the rotors.

Metztler 880 will give you the mileage your looking for. The Shinko has been a good tire for me as a rear tire but the front Shinko I didn't like. I am now running a Shinko (170) rear and a Metzler 880 (110) on the front which has worked well for me.

Brembos are my favorite rotor ( non-wave though ), Galfers are great , some have had success with the Chinese waves on e-bay .

If you're looking for an all around good performer and still get good mileage I would go with the metz 880's.

Shinko's are nice. I had a couple sets. They grip great. They just don't last too long.

As far as rotors go, EBC or Galfer both make good ones. Can't go wrong either way. Just depends on taste and budget. If it were me, I would probably just buy a set of chinese ones from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FRON...3043344QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Quite a few guys on here have good feedback about this seller.

I also used the Shinko tires and loved them - all good and not pricey.

I also had the chinese rotors from ebay all round - using Steve's (Jedi) adapters with the original calipers on my 86. Improved the braking no end, I guess the combination of the bigger diameter rotors and EBC HH pads was just perfect.

+1 on the Metz 880 s , had Shinkos and they were inconsistent for me , but I think I'm the only one that had that problem.

Anyone using Dyna-Beads? Shinko's using extra? The reason I asked is my rear Shinko tire
used a lot of weights to balance. No issues though. Considering Beads on next tire change.
