new vmax owner, need to buy tires/rotors and pads. Any recommendations on where to look?

Curious, are your rotors scored or 'blued' from heat, or warped? The ebaymotors Chinese ones with the 'petal'/wavy-edge aren't that expensive, but both OEM and EBC or other well-known manufacturers' rotors are pricey. There are a few guys using the Chinese ones, if you do a search on this forum for 'Chinese rotors' or 'brake rotors,' or similar, you can probably find the source. I don't recall anyone complaining about them.

I like HH compound pads, and I get them from my local parts house, I buy name-brand.

I tried a pair of Shinkos on my bike the last time I bought tires, I'm pretty-happy w/them. Stock sizes. I think they were the Verge. Before that I used the Bridgestones, Battlax BT023

EBC HH pads
Shinko Tourmaster tires. 120 up front and 170 in the back.

Plenty of other options and opinions. None of them wrong.

Last time i bought tires and pads was from bike bandit. You also can check partzilla and rocky mountain rtv. Next time i get tires, it will once again be shinko tourmasters.

I've got rotors and pads (and can get tires but shipping makes them cost prohibitive). Rotors don't generally NEED to be changed but if you have an early model (85-92) then it might be a good upgrade when done with our Hayabusa brake upgrade kit.

when you get a front tire try to find one without a center groove in the tread the front rim on these bikes are so narrow it causes the groove to expand and makes the bike loose at higher speeds. I'm sorry i don"t have a brand to give you cause mine is a radial. If money not an issue mich has a radial they make for the v-rod and there are some front rad from diff man but don't mix the bias tires with the radial

Many sets of Metzler Interacts later, I still think they're the best for the money. Radials. Z8's, Z6'S, and next the M7's waiting to be mounted. 120 front, 180 in back.
