I know that a lot of you don't care much for range reports but this one got personal. I'm sympathetic too all of you who write about your daily lives and mishaps. So, your stuck with mine if you've come here to read....:rofl_200:
Knight's Shooting Sports has tried for years to get me to shoot regularly on their range. The place is under different management now. Frank the manager asked me to shoot there on a Monday or Tuesday. He told me I'd get a special rate. $10.00 per hour. It had been $18.00 plus an hour to shoot there in the past.
I get there about 10 AM. Frank's nowhere to be found. I identify myself as a professional shooter and ask for the military discount. I'm told that it'll be $8.50 an hour, instead of $10.00. That's the first step to pissing me off. Special Price, My Ass.
I'm asked if I want to shoot on the rifle or pistol range. I told them I didn't need 50 yards, just 25. I'm there more to test loads and magazines than serious shooting for groups, the 45 Win Mag Upper I'm using is already set up for 25 yards.
So, I get to the range master, identify myself again. He gives me the full briefing and informs me that if I shoot over the line marked on the target that I'll be warned. If I shoot the upper frame, I'll be escorted out and pay for any damage... Thank you, I've fired over a million rounds and haven't missed by that much in 45 years.
I try my best to set the target up to go out 75 feet. 25 Yards... Then I find out that they only go out to 65 feet... My shots are low because I left the scope set as is.... I start to get a rest on the bench as no chairs are provided. Range master runs out and informs me that I'll end up on the floor if I try to rest on the bench....:damn angry:
To shorten the rest of the story. My rifle worked fine as did the magazines.
Shooting there Totally Sucked and when I checked out, I didn't even get my military discount... It'll be after the End of the World that I'll go back there to shoot.
BTW, All targets were done free hand,,, standing..
