I guess this has been asked before, but what is the top speed for a stock
VMAX? I;ved never held mine long enough to find out but I can say she'll do
145 and still be pulling hard! Several places on the net give HP ratings and quarter mile times but no top speed.
Just curious if anyone knows.

Thanks

I've had mine up to 150 on the clock then ran out of room. There are a few others that say they have pegged thier speedo.

I've seen 140 on my speedo but it says 130 on the GPS. Just no room and I have this built in need to live thing going on...

I'm a big guy too which doesn't help matters atall! :damn angry:

After 100 mph the speedos are not accurate any more. Can be off by as much as 20%. I figure you are really moving once it is past the numbers:biglaugh:

talking about the sane topic last night with a few guys .. they said the same thing at high speeds there off 10 15 20 % going buy there gps id be cranking on the highway saying wow traffic is realy moving at 90 mph ...always though when i was doing 100 it didnt feel like 100...i cant see a max pulling to 10,200 rpm at 155 dont think it can pull up there in stock form

I have had mine past the 155 mark. I would say the top speed of a VMAX 155MPH, speedo wise 160-165..

I will admit you have to be in a "Dont give a **** mood" To ride it out to limit. I am comfortable up to 135MPH after that knuckles become white and *** cheeks clamp tight enough to crack walnuts.

think half the problem is it takes to long to get up there..thans probably a good thing...the sport bikes get to 170 180 mph before i can hit 120...thats amazing

Yeah the VMAX is a slug after 100 MPH. Thats why I got the Kniferous!!!:eusa_dance:

No sense of spraying anything under 80MPH !! The NOS really helps on the big end!! Part of the reason I got it was due to I couldnt shake a Mustang at a roll on of 85 to 150.. Took care of that with the blue bottle!:clapping:

Thanks for all the response guy but I gotta add this.
Mine is stock other than a K&N & a set of Supertrapps with 8 discs on each side. At 145 it still pulls like its being dragged by a fighter jet and my
buddy who rides a busa confirmed the speed against his.Maybe the busa speedo is off too? All well its makes me grin whatever speed I ride it at.

Thanks to all

Unless he has a speedo-healer on that Busa I can guarantee it's off. They calibrate the ODO not the speedo. It's probably 9% or so off. GPS is the only accurate way to tell.

well, I watched a modifed huyabusa climb on the dyno last year that was claiming he had pegged the speedo and was able to do about 230mph. I figured he was full of it. Once on the dyno he ran it to the speedo peg all right and it showed around 230mph. Problem was, the certified dyno rollers only showed 193 mph! He really loved it when I stuck my Vmax on there and it pegged the dyno rollers at 200mph! The roller bearings on the dyno are only certified to 200mph and it starts flashing all kinds of warnings when it got there. It quit reading and dumped all the numbers when it would hit 200. We finally did another pull and shut it off early just so we could get a number off it.

Of course the busa will flat out run me on the street as I don't have enough HP to pull that high on the top end.

That was with my fifth gear overdrive and 170/80/15 metzler tire. It grew an incredible amount at that mph.

They have changed the software now for dynojet machines and it only reads to 183mph.

When they came out motorcyclist had a test with it ,fj1200, ninja 900,gs1150e, the kaw 750 turbo and the eliminator the fastest was the ninja 155 then the fj at 154 then the vmax at 150 this was on a paved road. The kawasawki turbo melted its tire on its run.
