Hello All,

I just recently had my 16k mile service performed and when I got my bike back, I discovered that I have no running turn lights on the front any more. I do not want to take my bike back up to those guys due to the fact I don't trust their work any longer. Where is the most likely place that they hosed up my running lights? The headlight and tail light work fine. The front turn signals work for turning, but not as running lights.

The work performed was the following:
Master Cylinder repair for front brake.
16k service (with bearing repack)

They were supposed to replace my battery with a lith-ion but failed to inform me, until I asked, that it was not currently available through their parts provider. He stated that they tested the battery and it is good and that they cleaned corrosion of the terminals. There is no real evidence of cleaning but there is no corrosion so perhaps they did do something. When they drained the coolant, they only refilled it to about an inch above the low line. Looking at the receipt, the coolant was free as they refunded it without my asking.

I don't know what else they had to touch. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Id remove the headlight. Only two screws, and check the connectors. Turn the bike on and check for power on the connectors. If no power on the wires id trace it and see if there is an issue somewhere.

If there is power you should just need some bulbs

Follow the blue wires back from the front signals, these are the running light supplies. They merge together at a connector with a single blue wire on the other end. Check this connector for corrosion, should be battery voltage at the single wire end (with ignition on). I'm not sure where this connector is located, most likely around the steering stem. It may have been inadvertently disconnected when the steering head bearings were being serviced.
Cheers!

Thanks for the help guys. I've metered my battery at 11.57 volts and that's what I'm getting across the Black and Blue wires in the head light assembly. It appears the power is there. They just don't turn on. Are there two filaments in these bulbs? One for running and one for turning? The blinkers work fine.

Yes, they are dual filament. Mine act up once in a while but I have two relays stuffed in there causing the issue possibly. Since the wires check out it's on to check the bulbs. I'm betting that's the issue.

Wow, that was simple. Both bulbs have a filament blown. They both worked prior to service and it had not occurred to me that I could have a double failure. Something must have caused a surge or something during the service.

Thanks guys. I'm learning so much on here. I also found the wiring diagram in a service manual so I'll have that for reference as well.
