Whats the "norm" when adjusting valves? Mine seemed to be pretty tight. If I am using my feelers correctly all my exhaust valves were around .008in and I went down about 3 shim sizes on average....005mm increments...so if it was say a 260 shim I ended up going down to a 245 shim...and ended up around .012-.011in clearance. I woulda thought 3 shim sizes would put my clearance over .012in.

The intakes were about .003in on average and most of them I went down 2 shim sizes....say a 282 shim out and 272 shim in.

Is changing a particualr valve by 3 shim sizes normal or was mine way too far outta spec? I'd hate to "over" correct my valves.

It was a PITA so I wanna be sure I'm comfortable with my work before I pack up Morley's shim kit for the next person to use.

Sean is one of the nicest people I know of. I had to call him the other day with a question. He was very thorough and eased my mind about being a bother. Just call and ask him, he probably has as much experience as anyone with valve adjustments.

There should be a Sean Morley Award, first for him and then for anyone who can come close. :clapping:
