so my VMAX is quite new to me. its a 92. riding her home from buying her, she gave me what i could only describe as an upside down pendulum motion. i stayed in a straight line, but it felt like the bike leaned over back in about a 1 second occilation. am i imagining this, or could it be the steering issue. looks like i have the furbur fix, as i have a washer above the second spanner nut .... sound consistent?

Sounds like a stock Vmax to me...:whistlin: I would check the air pressure in the fork up front and the preload adjustment out back... You may need to dial in the suspension for your weight. You are aware of the shaft jack effect right?

Get some Race-Tech internals and some Progressive shocks and you will be amazed how much better the bike is... I would also check the torque on the rear swingarm pivot bolts... These are commonly forgotten...

Steering bearings are loose or worn. Mine did the same thing 40,000 miles ago at 50 mph.
