A friend just came back from his Honor Flight. He returned to Ft. Lauderdale FL to a terminal filled with well-wishers, and had a great time in the company of his fellow WW II veterans. He served in the USN in the European Theater. He lied about his age to enlist, though he was married just before he enlisted.

I just was sent this video by a fellow retired firefighter/paramedic, he knows I like the historical items like this. The 'snowflakes' of today's college campuses, clamoring for their 'special accommodations,' revisionist history, re-naming of buildings, and 'safe-spaces,' well, in this type of warfare (see the video) you had to make your own 'safe space.' Unfortunately, it often meant that many of your fellow soldiers, sailors, aviators, or other military members in-arms, died trying to fight against the Axis powers.

Watch the video and just try to imagine what that ship was like under-attack, and afterwards, just three months from the end of WW II in the Pacific Theater.

Wow, these were brave men! God bless those men that gave us the opportunity for freedom.

I'm not easily moved but something like this, it is hard to imagine. I know a lot of todays youth just arent made of the stuff these men are and were, I just hope there are enough who can match this bravery and sacrifice when the need again arises, as it surely will.
