damn post office, no wonder they're going broke and people don't use them as much any more.

I recently sent a tach converter hook up to a fellow member. It came back, I forgot to put stamps on it, my fault.

So, I put it in a new envelope put two stamps on it and away it goes. Today it came back again. Saying that the postage required is $2.07 and I only had two stamps (92 cents). So I figure something aint right.

I whip out my digital postal scale and weigh the envelope. 1oz right on the money. Being it's a normal sized envelope that is not 1/4" thick, the cost should have been for a 1oz and normal letter envelope size, 1 - 46 cent stamp. Hell, for a 2 oz envelope it would only be 2 stamps (which I had on the envelope). Even their own postage calculator shows it at just one, 46 cent stamp. So I should have had it covered with the two stamps.

I ordered a oil pressure kit from cycle one off 11 days ago still not here and he's away till July 31 grrr

Still waiting for a first class parcel to Australia.
Been a month now....tracking stopped in chicago...no updates.
Emailed them last week...no answer.

Luckily my ignitech shows as being in Au....it was priority post

It's spotty. Ordered stuff from Germany and England on the same day. Got my English stuff in 9 days. Germany took a month.

I used to be a rural mail carrier in upstate NY, all the services available at the PO were also available thru the rural carriers....money orders, stamps, you name it, it was available.

Thinking this was still the case I put a little change cup in the mailbox with enough money for a couple stamps, and a couple unstamped letters I was mailing out....assuming the rural carrier would take the letters and money and that would be it.

Nope, the letters & coins stayed there for a couple days so I called the PO...."Oh, we don't do that anymore, it's a security issue!"

SECURITY ISSUE? What friggin' security issue?? :ummm:

I used a US post office service to intercept and have a package returned to me. Had plenty of time before it reached its destination. Once delivery was attempted and failed, it was held at the PO for several days awaiting customer pick up. And it still was never stopped. I read the fine print when I paid the. $10 fee. "No Guarantee Of Return ". They really just took my money and made no effort to stop/ intercept my parcel. They have no documentation of any effort they made to carry out their responsibility. I have yet to call the 800 number. What satisfaction do you suppose I'll get there! Yeah, a true joke and I can't wait for this to be privatized.

USPS .......... drop an S , add a bit for insurance , problems are reduced greatly . ( No I don't wear brown to work )

Nope just a confirmation that it was paid for 11 days ago & he emailed me personally saying I should have it 3-4 days .

i get those too. usually takes about a month to get stuff.

I guess so far I have been pretty lucky with USPS with the exception of a set of forks that I was getting worried about.

i've had great luck with usps also

i find them just too overpriced. i've never had a problem with usps either.

like UPS wanted $15 to send something that usps does for $2-3.

Last time I used USPS was to send a supercharger kit that I sold from my truck. I sent it to Hawaii. I spent 215 shipping it. UPS wanted nearly 500. It made it in three days from Mississippi. No doubt people have problems, but usually people don't post the good things that happen.

I have a better one here with USPmotherfuckinS...

I've sent a custom billet tripple trees to a forum member in MAY.They have lost
it at JULY 6th. They would not give him any info since hes not a sender.
The shipment is being hold from JULY 6th in a sortage facility without a reason.
USPS would not even reply on OFFICIAL POLISH POSTAL NOTICE!!!!!!!!!

After a month of fighting USPS finaly started an invastigation...jizas what kind of
company is that?!?

Only problem with UPS up here is the cost is 5 times what it is in the lower 48.
I had a watch UPS'd up here, the cost was $60.

Went to the USPS office this afternoon, the gal there agreed with me, It should have gone through without a hitch. But get this, It get's stamped when it's sent back to you, so you do pay, to have mail returned.

She asked if I wanted to re-send it again 1st class. I said, no. I threw it in a priority mailer and sent it off. At least I know it's on its way this time. :bang head:

I hear ya KJ. My bro-in-law left his pocket knife here after his last visit and asked if I'd send it back to him via USPS. Wrapped it properly and put it in a padded envelope. Line was way too long to wait in so I used the postal weigh machine they have in the lobby to "help expidite" your postal experience ! Put the sealed package on the scale, type in the required info as to where it was going, and it then spit out the proper postage needed to get it there. Two days later, the package is back in my mail box with a "return to sender due to insifficent postage" of .... get this .... 1 frickin penny !!!

That's the government for ya. My ex's dad has a framed check he got from the state for .13, from over payment of property tax. efficiency at its finest right there.

What gets me is the way things used to be. I remember being about 4 or 5 in '71-'72. My thing was always motorcycles, I had a Honda Z50, but my main play toys were an old Evel Knievel stunt bike, AFX slot cars and a ghost rider friction powered chopper. I got the Ghost rider toy and many others from the back of comic books. The only thing I did was fill out the order form and toss in a few coins into a stamped envelope and pop it in the mail. Sure it took a month to get my stuff, but there was no issues. Some **** back in the day was so much more simple.

Heh, Speaking of slot cars. How cool was the Christmas of 1971 :punk:
