I like my V-Max,I like the history of the V-Max...I like seeing olds pictures of them from their glory days so I found old pictures of times they were featered as magazine covers and thought they were really cool...

Today at a bike swap meet I found a magazine vendor and low and behold,HE HAD SOME OF THE MAGAZINES.They were $2 a piece so I bought all 3 that he had.

These are 2 of the magazines I bought and I could not find a picture of the 3rd but I think they will look cool framed in my house. What a neat find right???

Best original thing to have from the "old days" of the VMax (1985 comes to mind, wonder why? LOL) is the bike itself! Every time I ride that bike it becomes more of a "Keeper"! I definitely would not take the $5295.00 that I paid for it to sell it... Gotta go a lot higher! I don't see that happening anytime soon, so I guess I'm stuck with the old fossil!

I wouldn't sell my bike for the price I paid either.
The more I ride it, the more I appreciate it. I realize it's old tech. I realize there may be faster bikes - but it's one of a kind that's for sure.

Everyone can ride the top dollar, logo covered, fuel injected newest thing on the street for a fee.

But were the ones to ride the legend...They may not be "THE fastest" but neither is an old 68 Camaro but people fear and respect them because they are the pioneer ass kickers AND THEY KNOW IT!

Cant see myself sellin her for anything really.

Yup, same here.
I won`t sell my max, unless I absolutly have to.
the last time I sold my bike it was 8 years until I got another one.
It was like being thrown in jail with 4 wheels. :bang head::bang head::damn angry::damn angry::bang head:
<<Dave>>:punk:

When I buy something, it is MINE. To me, there is no such thing as "Trade in Value". I have no interest in deprecation values, because I don't sell anything. I traded my first truck off, and regreted it ever since, when I could have saved for a while for the down payment, and had both trucks.

I bought my max new, when it is paid for, I will buy another bike, and then another. But I will still have the Max.

Times are tuff out there but i wouldnt sell my Max , the car would go 1st .
When the Vmax is parked on the side of the road im amazed by the comments , the looks and the thumbs up i get - enough said . :clapping::punk:

If times got tough for me, I'd hate to see it go, but see ya later Max. I'd probably feel a little different if there was year-around riding.

I'm in to keeping things, and having the max paid for is a big plus. And when I say I'm in to keeping things, I took my driver's test in my truck when I was 16-years-old.

so 25 years later, with the exception of a Kenwood CD player that replaced the Kenwood casette player, the truck is still the same. So you can say that when I'm attached to something I tend to keep it around :biglaugh:

I'm into hanging onto things too...my 'new' truck is a '98 GMC with 148K on the clock, my 'old' one is a '90 GMC with 246K...it's semi-retired (like me) and is a plow/backhoe truck. I see no point in selling them, I know them, we've grown old together...end of story!

I'm lucky enough to have 2 max's. I might, possibly, at some point, consider, selling the '06...maybe!

The '99 will be part of my estate!! :punk:

I paid cash for my Max and Quad, my '98 GMC is paid for and in 13 years my house will be paid off. I looking at building a garage and a economical SUV for longer trips, but I have a price ceiling so I don't cut into my monthly fun budget.
The Vmax and GMC are never gonna part ways.

mines a keeper too,but back to the mags, way cool, ive a few, including the dec 84 cycle world"whats new for 1985",cycle world may 85 "vmax vs 427 cobra",cycle worlds 10 best of 85(vmax was #1) and the original center fold with a vmax and a 32 ford roadster, four page open out. misc others all along the way.
