I'm new to the Vmax (coming up on a year) and this forum. Hope this is the right place to ask this question.

Don't think the Vboost is working. When I first got the bike, very noticeable when you hit 6K rpm it was like a little nitrous kick. Now nothing. Bone stock 2001 engine. Now that I think of it, the only change was Cobra slip-ons, don't remember if I've felt it since then. Could it be the Cobra's or something else?

Thanks for the help.

Chris.

Does the servo motor make the noise when you turn on the ignition?

Yes. Still makes the same sound, thought it was a fuel pump. It buzzes once, followed by a second buzz just slight pitch higher.

That is usually a good indication that the system is working. Maybe it is just the cobra's.
You can check it by revving the engine and looking at the vboost mechanism with a torch, see if it moves after 6000rpm.

It's pretty normal for you to get used to the vboost during your regular riding. Try riding through the ~6200 rpm range slowly and you should feel it, especially through the lower gears.

If T-boost is good for anything, it at least let's me check the v-boost while riding. At steady throttle in 2nd gear I flip it on. The feel is easy to detect. Also my speed increases noticebly when it starts to come on at 3k and I know it's working.

You could be right, when I first got the bike and it kicked in I thought, what the hell was that? Cool! Now it's second nature, but when I looked for it yesterday it was in the top 2 gears, I'll look for it in the lower gears today.

Ok, thanks. Where do I look?

Other that that, what the general consensus on T-boost? Pro or con?

Weird but i'm having the same feeling since I changed the muffler. Wondering where the chang could come from. The inlet is slightly smaller. Perhapps something different on the carb since I got it back.

See below - you can see the VB mechanism between the lower rubber carb sleeves
