I love you guys!! (In a non ghey way, not that there's anything wrong with that...)
Without you guys, my bike would be scrap metal!!! :punk:

This Forum is Great, because of the People. I would have one VMax in the corner of the garage and would never have bought a second...
Thank You to Everyone Here,, Too.. I believe I can actually hold my own now... Thanx to this "Library of VMax Congress" and it's Members....

Maybe I even help others sometimes..:rofl_200:

Come-on guys... Don't mince words...

This forum is great because of me... I know and you know it.

lol

It's a team effort IMO. We help guide people down the right road, usually with the knowledge we accumulated when working on our bikes. Which vendors that are good and those that aren't, and what mods are worth doing and those that aren't.
Unfortunately, I joined to late to keep me from making one of the largest mistakes of my life to date. Ugh...

Agreed, VMF.net, you rock! By in large the whole reason I got into the Vmax was this forum and the information I was able to find.

Agree....this is bar none the best online forum I've ever been a part of...I think I've identified some of the reasons why.

-Not too big, not too small. Pan-brand forums are often gigantic, since they attract anyone with a (yamaha, kawasaki, suzuki, whatever). There may be a thousand or more members online at any given time. I've noticed big forums get tons of new threads, but very little discussion into each....most threads get 5 or less replies and quite often none. Big, all-encompassing forums also don't have a lot of experts, since it's tough to be an expert on an entire brand....they've got a couple specialties, and hang out on forums dedicated to those specialties. Some forums that are just getting started, or for bikes that just aren't very popular, are virtually dead, just not enough members, the knowledge pool is pretty tiny.

-Vmax is a very mod-friendly bike. So there's a lot of people that have dug into the case, explored the wiring, and changed every part imaginable. So there's a lot of knowedge about, well, taking it apart. With more modern bikes, the "mod" forum is just endless discussions about power commander maps or changing sprockets.

-Vmax is a "cult hit". People cling onto these bikes and take the time to learn about them. It's not a learner bike that gets passed off in 6 months. It's something different....not just another forgettable Japanese standard.

-With rare exception, it appears that assholes just don't ride vmaxes, or if they do, they don't appear here.

-There's no political or religious discussion, though most forums now either ban that, or corral it to it's own eternal flame war board.

-There's a strong enough sense of community that people actually bother to take photos and write tutorials about repairs, mods, ect. Seriously...photo "how to's" are really rare....among any sort of forum...and we've got loads of them.

-Buster isn't afraid of every little rule. The Honda forum I used to visit would ban someone on the spot if they uploaded, or posted a link to the pdf service manual, stating that was a copyright violation. While it probably is....do you really think anyone cares? They wouldn't let you post porn in the NSFW forum(there wasn't a NSFW forum), or make politically incorrect jokes, or use any naughty language.

So yeah....you don't realize what a great place this is until you hang around somewhere else for a while.

While I was over on BigBikeWorld.com I thought it was a great forum. I used to machine things such as footpeg lowering brackets and brake adaptor kits, but one guy really put me down and then as it would happen I sold the ZX-11. I still visit once in a while and the site is very quiet.
This site on the other hand is really great.

I don't post much on here but i read all posts everyday. I also have learned a lot on this site and everyone is helpful. When you own a v-max it is like a brotherhood. We are a rare breed. But I am very proud to be a v-max owner... Thanks everyone :)
