With engine off it should hold 12.5-12.8V.

At idle, it should be close to or just over 13V. If lower, you might wanna check if the 'crimp fix' has been done, and check/clean/replace with a direct wire the mounting of the R/R behing the left passenger footpeg as this is the grounding for it.
 
At idle, I'd expect just over 13. Come off idle a slight ways and the voltage should come up a some more. You can tell because the lights will get brighter. This is really where the charging takes place. At idle, it's just barely maintaining all the systems that are functioning.
 
Thank you, At idle it's only 12.20 or so when I first start it, after a bit I can rev it some and then when it goes back down it's at 12.3 or 4 so I was thinking about an r/r that I saw on !tail.com site. Any opinions?KC
