A little no matter what you hear...

Seafoam is a petroleum based cleaner (an aggressive one) I use it combined with oil to wash down my engine internals after using methanol. It's great stuff! Most people who use it in the crankcase prior to an oil change are generally trying to loosen up a sticky lifter in an old vehicle. It will remove sludge in a hurry and will turn your oil black as Satan. It will also remove any varnish that has accumulated on anything in your engine. Sometimes that varnish is your friend. A good case being that wrist pin piston bearing clearance. If you remove it (especially in an older high mileage engine) you may be in for a surprise. Your Vmax is an "85" Has the engine been rebuilt recently? If so... maybe no harm done by using it. If not ???? Again... Why would you experiment with the life of your engine to see your clutch spinning around?

As a friend of mine says... Do what your gonna do... cause your gonna do it anyway.

+1

Peapoles here starting to use Seafom as they heard thats oustanding cleaner
from USA and makes magic to your engine. Actually its something great, i have a bottle and i wish to have one forever.
But i know some peaple here with high milage engines and after using Seafoam they get spuned bearing or whirtspin...

This is a good point...Thats why I wanted to research it more... Ill try a breather on the oil plug and see what happens. I was thinking of doing a breather on the clutch cover just to get air in there faster (kinda direct to the source of the problem sorta thing) but I dont know if there will be a noticeable difference with that rather than a oil cap breather.

Last time I did this it was summer...in CALIFORNIA. It was 110 outside and NO moisture on the glass sorta thing.
So Im glad Im doing this now rather than freaking out when winter hit and my bike fogged up.

So...I guess Ill try the oil cap breather first!

On a side note I was happy to hear Seafoam could cure it and I DO BELIEVE IT WOULD. But this is my only bike right now and I cant afford a big repair, shes old and I know my luck. For now Ill try breathers but Im just not confident putting it in my oil. Thanks for the suggestion though!
