Got the dark horse out of the trailer today, getting it ready for the WyoTech Brute Horse Power Shootout in Daytona. Hope to see some Vmax's there.

I hadn't ridden the max since late last summer. Well, today I took my new bike for a spin (bought a Busa about a month ago), then came home, fired up the max, and took it for a spin. Woooo Nellie! She was like trying to tame a wild beast. In just a few short months I forgot what a hoot the max is to ride. She's still every bit as much fun as a modern fancy squid bike.

Went for a ride!!! :auto182:

Bike is looking good Baz, what rear sets do you have?
and how do you like them?

They are Spiegler LSL rearsets. Quality is good. First ride today was good! :biglaugh:
I don't like the footpegs, so I had to modify a set to fit.
They also do adaptors for the rears, which I still want to get.

So far, impressed.

Rode to work like I do almost everyday. Freeway is nice and open at 4:30 in the morning.

Bazwell your bike is looking really nice. What kind of headlight you running?

Mike

Installed some LSL sliders.

Re: Your first thoughts your first time on a VMax?

Hit the brake bar from Cycle One Off (thanks bikesponsors.com :clapping:) with red anodizing paint to match my grill and the 4 scoop inserts.
Then I went out and picked up a new reducer and had the diameter increased slightly on both ends so I have a very tight compression fitting to from the muffler to the headers. Literally had to hammer it on the headers and then use the rubber mallet and hammer on the muffler. Looks nice and smooth. If I ever have to remove them, I'm going to have to cut them off. but it looks a ton better without clamps.
Next on the list is hanger fabrication and finishing up the instrument cluster. Thank god spring break is next week. I can get some stuff done between study sessions.

Rode to work. Beautiful 30'C autumn day. Got there easily, with a grin on my face. My missus texted me 30 mins later saying she was still stuck in traffic. :rofl_200:

Life really is better when you own a vmax. :biglaugh:

Took it for a ride to my brothers shop (it was 65 here yesterday) to install new muffler. Came out very nice and it sounds AWESOME!:punk:

The muffler looks great. How much was it to get something like that?
This one was $99 + shipping. Labor was FREE! My favorite brother welded it on for me after hours :eusa_dance:. Search for IXIL, you will find KJs post with the link to the company, they are out of Indianapolis if I remember correctly.

Wow! Thanks. I can handle $100 bucks for a muffler. I've had the stock one off before, but ended up putting it back on, despite it being banked up and generally fuggly.

I'd probably have to hire out the welding though. Hmmm ... definitely something to think about.

Here's the thread link: http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=22153&highlight=IXIL

And here's the product page: http://www.indysuperbike.com/Ixil_Dual_Hyperlow_SlipOn_Exhaust_Kawasaki_Z1000-1616844.html

Actually I did this yesterday:
Painted my Header Pipes Flat Black (they were seriously Blued).
Took a 120 Mile Ride and hit triple digits a few times.
It felt great to get a nice ride in, in 60+ Degree weather.
