Wheel Question

I went to the VA here in Lexington and parked my bike next to a Kawasaki Concours; I couldn't help but notice that it had an 18X3.00 front wheel with a 110/80R-18 front radial tire and a 16X3.50 rear wheel with a 150/60R-16 rear radial tire. I was just wondering if it would be possible to modify these wheels to make them fit the 'Max??

There would be very little to no advantage IMO....there are not a lot of good choices of hi performance tires in those sizes. 17" front and rear is the ultimate, every sport tire on the market is available to you then. The next best and most inexpensive option would be just upgrading to an 18" rear wheel and keeping the front stock.
