I just replaced my rear rotor and when I removed the axle, the washer that goes next to the brake caliper bracket fell out before I noticed whitch side of the braket it was on. It looked like it was on the inside against the wheel hub. When I looked at the manual, it looks like it goes on the ouside of the bracket, against the swingarm. Someone posted a picture on the forum showing it on the outside.

Neither position seems to line up the brake caliper in the center of the rotor but either one is close enough to work since the pads can slide left to right a little bit.

I'd appreciate it if any of you guys with a stock rear wheel setup could take a look and let me know where the one on your bike is placed.

I dont know if its correct, but I install the washer between the wheel hub and the caliper mounting hardware.

I'm about 80% certain that's where mine fell from but the manual shows the washer on the outside of the caliper mount against the swingarm. The oil seal is shown as the first thing contacting the mount on the inside.

I guess I'm going with the manual unless there's a reason for moving it that somebody knows about.

You're talking about THIS link?

It's right. I have done it too many times to be wrong. :bang head:

Cheers

Yeah, That's the one I was looking for. That's the position the manual shows. Mine was on the other side when I removed the axle. Just wanted to make sure since the rotor is not quite centered in the caliper using either position.

Thanks much.
