why wont it start in gear with clutch pulled

i got my new old 85 bak from having carbs gone through it runs awesome but when i was trying to go through gears farely quikly when i went to go into third it was like nutral i backed of throttle tried putting it in again and it went in now i also noticed I cant start the bike in gear. Could it be the clutch? Cause even after bleeding clutch still doesnt feel quite rite when u squeeze it. or is it a tranny thing only thing is everything ive read speaks about the second bein bad not third:ummm:

maybe shift segment? i hope whoever fixed your carbs didn't take it out for some 'spirited' riding?

+1. If it's half-apart I could see it doing that.....If it finishes falling apart then you should get stuck in one of the gears permanently until you go in and fix it........
