Great advice, and thats what I'm going for. Having a Max for a first bike will give me all the more reason to take things slow.

Just to clear something up here...I don't as of yet own a V-Max. But when making my profile it would not let me continue till I added a Bike. It was a red Max that caught my eye at first, so i just added that....For now :P

They are a good bunch to be honest, they would do all they could to look out for me until I'm comfortable. No sport bikes, a combination of V65, boulevard 109 and a few harley davidson's.

See I get the speed/power part of why "It's not ideal, and actually a scary thought to start on a max" But other then that, is there other reasons? I'm the type to start of really slow when learning new things. Must have spent hours in the driveway when I was a kid getting to know the clutch in...

Thanks for the fast responses. I get what you guys are saying, good suggestions for sure. I loved the look of the Max first and formost.... Did some research, found out fast that this will be a whole other animal then the bikes I'll train with..Baby steps for sure. davesax36, Small world huh...
