    Polishing up the Scoops

Thanks, hopefully the clear coat option works for you...I will do that if I decide to polish vs chrome. Will take some brain cell life cycles and a few beers to figure it out. Sean sent me his options list and I'm getting very anxious to get something done one way or another asap. -Mark T

    Polishing up the Scoops

Agreed, I like the nickel plating for that reason when called for, although perhaps the quality of the chrome plating is the dynamic to consider as I'm sure not all chrome is created equal. I've heard back from Sean so I have my options! Your scoops look awesome, how many hours of elbow...

    Polishing up the Scoops

Thanks, guys. I'll see what Sean can do for me. I'd toyed with polishing the things and then clearing them but as has been mentioned, probably much more efficient/ cost effective to get them chromed by a reputable shop. I like the look of polished aluminum slightly more than the chrome but I...

Sean, are you still offering chroming services? I understand the regulations have gone stupid last few years....Have Gen 1 scoops and side covers needing help. Thanks, Mark

    R&R Stator how-to?

I need to jack this thread a bit. Lost the motor in my '89 'Max and found a sweet '03 to transplant in. Can someone give advice about how, if possible, to retrofit this new motor stator wiring to the '89? 1 pickup/ 2 pickups... do I need to change the stator?

'06 gauges in '89 Max wiring question

OK, looking at the wiring diagrams (Thanks, Sean!), the extra wire is a power on bulb check for the low oil and low fuel lamps (Ground side switched?) Seems like if I match the connector pins and mate the black-on-red line to the brown ground all should be good with the world. Somebody spot me...

'06 gauges in '89 Max wiring question

Thanks, Miles I'll give Morley's a look-see. I did notice the common black-on-red wire for the low fuel and low oil lights....I have to assume the low oil is currently useless too? I'll report back

'06 gauges in '89 Max wiring question

I should add that the old cluster harness does have issues, i.e. corroded terminals etc, which necessitated it being changed in the first place, aside from aesthetics....

'06 gauges in '89 Max wiring question

Cap'n As I just learned the hard way, the low fuel light is now inoperative (ran out of gas...UGH noob mistake). May need to splice in something or reconfigure that extra pin in the new cluster harness so that it goes somewhere useful....

'06 gauges in '89 Max wiring question

Picked up a bunch of gear from a retired '06 including the tach gauge cluster. Looks identical except for the fuel light wiring, theres and extra pin in the red connector (black on red wire)...My harness connector is black. What is the wiring mod needed or does the '89 sender have to be used?
