    im to short!!

x2 recommend the MSF beginner class. You must learn how to ride the right way to keep you safe. Always look you for cars. They do not look out for you. Use the front and rear brake to stop not just the back like I see so many people do. 70 % of your braking power is up front. One more tip...

Great that is what I wanted to hear. I have never had a gauge on a bike so I had no idea what normal was. Boy if i had a car with 23psi at 3k I would not run it long. lol. Thanks guys

    normal oil pressure?

It hits bypass on start up 65 or 70. Then drops down to what I posted after say 25 min or so of riding. I always let it idle for a couple minutes. And I never go above 4k until it is warmed up.

    normal oil pressure?

Ok I did a search and came up with nothing. So I installed a oil pressure gauge on my 1986 vmax. And here is what I am reading. At idle and warmed up I get 5 to 7 psi , 3k I get about 23 to 25 , and at 4k I get 35 to 40. If I get on it goes up to 65 or 70 psi. Does this sound right to you guys...

    kerker baffle question

Ok I installed the supertrapp. It has the same sound but tone down to a point that is nice to ride but still turns heads. It correct a issue also the bike was bad about surging with a small amount of throttle. This made it hard to pull out on to the road and in parking lots. Now it is smoother...

    kerker baffle question

I do like the idea of setting it up like I want it. But if I want to go to loud I can put old one on. I just dont want to choke the motor off. It runs good from down low all the way up. It is the best bike down low I have every rode. I agree if you trade torue for hp it is more usable. I just...

    kerker baffle question

Wow 10 whp is a lot to give up. What about the Supertrapp muffler with the discs inside so you can tune the sound to your liking. Will that give you less loss with the sound reduction I m looking for? The one in the picture.

    kerker baffle question

I am new to the V max thing. I have had it about 3 weeks now. I do enjoy the bike but I think I need some ear plugs. My ear are ring after I get off the bike. I have a 4 to 2 to 1 kerker with as best I can tell a 2.5" baffle. I measure the Id of the opening on exit of the muffler. I did repack...

    Coolent leak from weep hole

I found a leak on the back side of the coolent manfold on the top behind the scoop. It was draining down the pipe and runing down the plug wire. I cut the hose back reattached and ran it with no more leak. It appear that it was storing it over in the hole over night. As it would warm up it boil...

    Coolent leak from weep hole

Ok, the hole I am talking about it is on the right side front cylinder head sitting on the bike. It is above the rectanguler plate on side of the head. It is the one I'm pointing to on the image. I guess I should have posted that on the first post lol. It will be fine until it warms up then...

    Coolent leak from weep hole

Hi all, I have 1986 Vmax. The problem is that the small hole below the spark plug channel is leaking coolent after it warms up. It is on the side of the cylinder head. Does any know where the coolent is coming for and how bad is it to fix. Thank for your help.
