    Thermo switch

Thanks for all the input I bit the bullet and spent the $50 for a new thermo switch. Now I have a different problem I used the drain to get out all the old coolant (it was nasty)and replace it with new. The problem now is it drips just as few drops after sitting in the garage for a few days...

    Thermo switch

Yes the cap is popping and coolant pouring out of the over flow. The fan will no kick on after fallowing the diagnostics in the service manual I came to the conclusion that the thermo switch was bad, that is why I bypassed it.

    Thermo switch

Hey, Guys I'm looking for your thoughts of removing the thermo switch and completing the circuit with wire and some connectors. That is what I have done because my bike overheated Sunday. It seems to work great with the fan running from the starting of the bike, but I am wondering what the bad...

    Vboost

That is the the case for me too. I took the cover off as suggested to make sure all was still hooked up and working it was. When I rode half throttle and watched for it I could definitely feel it open up. I never had a Vmax before and didn't know what to expect so I was looking for a real big...

    Vboost

I'm not feeling it but I do hear the "whirr-whirr" it sounds a lot like the fuel pump on my R1. Is there any way to look at linkage or something while the bike is running that would let me know if it's kicking on or not? :confused2:

    Vboost

I can't feel the boost kick in is it easily noticeable? I'll look for the controller tomorrow maybe it will have a sticker that will tell me something more. Thanks

    Vboost

Hey guys I got a question about the vboost. I just got a 89 vmax and there is a toggle switch on the left front side of the bike that the previous owner said changes the RPM vboost comes on at. I think it's a mod but not sure. I have no experience with vboost but I can't tell a difference no...

Easiest way to put it on the center stand

Re: Easiest way to put it on the centrestand +2 it's the pushing down that makes the difference. I stand to the side push down with my right foot as hard as I can and pull the bike back by the bars and it goes up every time. Also I totally agree that sitting on the bike is the only way get it...

89 Vmax brakes first of many questions

Thanks I don't know why I didn't think of that:shot: I guess I was thinking bolt pattern. Either way your right there bigger on the R1. I am working at getting it cleaned up (It has been in storage for the last 7 years I was told) after I get it looking decent I'll get some pics and...

89 Vmax brakes first of many questions

Hi I'm new here and a new owner of an 89 Vmax. It needs new rotors and I was hoping that somebody can tell me if rotors from my 02 R1 will fit? Some sites have the part numbers as the same others don't:confused2:. The reason I'm asking is the ones on the R1 are good and I was going to put them...
