Hey Garrett. With the powdercoating issue. You should be able to sand the coat off the mating surface. I know its tough stuff, but trust me, it can be done. Good luck!

Fwiw. 1983 was the first year V65. Rebuilt one back in 05. Loved the 6 speed and comfort! Hit 135mph a time or 2 and yes it liked to shake. Sold it to help pay cash for my Vmax. Your absolutely right. The V30's are quick. But the V45 Magna's are quicker. Kinda like comparing the 45 to the 65...

Use a blow dryer to heat up the decal and it will peel off much easier.
