1998 Yamaha Vmax 1200

Bike is a barn find! It has been sitting in pole barn with concrete floors since 2009 and only has 5245 miles since bike was totally rebuilt!

In 2006 at approximately 20,000 miles bike was totally stripped down to the frame and restored. Motor was completely rebuilt with new piston (stock bore) new rings along with new bearings and new Web Racing Camshafts (valve lift 360 deg duration 270 deg also known as grind #116) Heads were ported and polished. New Barrnett Clutch kit with the Double D clutch mod. UFO stainless steel and ceramic coated exhaust 4/2 (some minor pitting from sitting). New Dyno Jet stage 7 jet kit with 4 K&N pod air filters and breather assembly. Stainless steel braided lines installed for front/rear brakes and clutch. Swing arm, both rims, rear end, grab bar, triple tree, side covers, and carburetor covers all powder coated gloss black. Reupholstered seat with 2005 Yamaha leather cover. Yamaha R1 front brake master cylinder. UFO drag bar handlebar and new OEM Yamaha speedo assembly. Autometer 2-1/16” cobalt oil pressure gauge. Cooling fan override switch to turn on cooling fan on manually. V-boost switch to turn on V-boost at 3K Rpm or 6K Rpm. Yamaha radiator and radiator covers with built in LED turn signals. Progressive suspension rear shock that lowers the bike 1 inch, to make up for this on the front the fork tubes are mounted above the triple tree.

Have pictures along receipts paperwork for most of the work that was done during the build.

All within the last month the carburetors have been rebuilt with new O-rings, gaskets, needle/seats and diaphragms. Resynced carburetors after rebuild. Gas tank has been removed cleaned/flushed thoroughly and sealed with POR-15. New fuel filter installed, Coolant system has been cleaned flushed and installed a new crossover tube O-ring (Yamaha). Changed oil (Valvoline 4 stroke 20w50) and oil filter (Hiflofiltro Racing HF303RC). Changed final gear oil (80/90 gear lube). New Battery 7/2023 (Batteries+) . New starter clutch kit (Ideal). Installed new spark plugs (NGK) and COP (Coil over plug) without resistors. New front brake pads (Yamaha) and rotors (Tarazon). New rear brake pads (EBC) and rotor (Tarazon). New front fork seals (Yamaha). New front tire (Dunlop). Paint is not perfect has a few scratches here and there but still shines up nicely when cleaned up. Clean green Michigan title. Bike runs and rides great!

I see you're by I-94 & west of Dowagiac by Lake Michigan. Easy to get to, if someone is considering a road trip.
