I am fitting 17" wheels to my '07.
For the front I purchased a 2002 YZF600 17".
I know the standard fitting procedure has been to pull approx 6mm from the left front fork tube and then the same amount from the front right spacer.
I generally like to only perform mods that do not permanently alter the bike.
I am wanting to run the stock speedo, I do not wish to use an electronic unit or GPS.
So, I am wondering if anyone has given thought to pulling material from the inside of the speedo drive instead of the fork tube? I am thinking the larger flat surface on the drive may be sacrificed, but with a sealed bearing in the wheel I am thinking it may not be too big a deal.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Any other alternatives?
Thanks in advance,
G Man
