I posted another topic the other day about how i started my bike in the morning drove it half way to work stopped for gas and "click click click" battery wouldnt turn over!!! worked fine all summer never indicated that there was a problem thought it was a connection but figured out it wasnt, i have 12 volts at the solenoid and battery, can i see if its charging by jumping it to start it and test the battery with voltmeter to see if voltage goes up?:bang head::ummm:

Used to have this same problem years back. The stock max battery is just about equivalent to a lawn tractor battery. I did the electrosport regulator/rectifier and an odyssey pc680 battery and problem gone. I did however take my 2 brush starter apart and clean everything with electrical cleaner. The aftermarket regulator required sanding the back of it a little for good ground even though it has a direct ground wire that runs to the battery. Also the "crimp" fix is good for almost 1 full volt at charge.http://www.electrosport.com/ and http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=odyssey+pc680&_sacat=0&_odkw=odyssey+battery&_osacat=0
