Best sealant for cooling system?

Hi folks:

Hope everyone is doing okay out there.

Here's my question: What is the BEST sealant out there for supplementing a gasket to ensure leak-prevention in the water pump of a cooling system (I'm referring to my 1986 FZX700, whose water pump absolutely refuses to remain leak-free, despite my replacement of the gasket.)

this is the only stuff ive ever had any luck with. when GM had the dreaded intake manfold gasket fiasco...they gave out a similar product.

prolly only temporary tho....

Permatex brush on sealer is one. It's made to be used with a gasket,stays soft. You might want to check the sealing surfaces
for warpage on a flat surface.

Silicone is for sinks, bathrooms, and aquarims! It has NO place on a motorcycle as a sealant! This is the stuff you want!! http://www.permatex.com/products/mo...cle_MotoSeal_1_Ultimate_Gasket_Maker_Grey.htm Non silicone, and works very well for oil, and antifreeze. You may also want to check your thermostat housing for any very small hairline cracks
