I have got one and not a single issue from it. Does exactly what it is supposed to do and what I really like about it is it has a one year warranty. The way my bike was eating the R/R in the beginning this was nice.

The original unit on the early Maxes was a POS, and simply didn't work well.
What you are looking for is the next step in design. I'd bet any of the units with seperate + and - wires would work fine. Simply connect the 3 white wires to the unit from the stator, and run the red and black wires to the battery.

I went through 2 OEM rectifiers a while back. Upgraded to the electrosport r/r about 2 yrs ago and no problems.....Just be sure to sand the paint off the back of it and make sure you're contact point to the frame is clean. very important the ground is solid or you'll be back up the creek :bang head:
