Hello all! Last year I bought a 2000 Vmax from my father in law that was in need of some love. After cleaning/rebuilding the carbs and replacing all the intake boots, its up and running and pretty cool to compare alongside my 98 R1 as far as power band, etc. The Vmax has a stage 7 jet kit, 4-1 UFO exhaust, fork brace, spin on oil filter conversion, led lights and some other little upgrades here and there. I look forward to jumping over to the tech section for carb balancing and the fine tuning it feels it needs. IMG_6622.jpg

Your bike should already have a spin-on oil filter, stock (since the 1996 model year) w/the 'humped' frame cross-member accommodating it. Is that what you see?

Some useful pics.

The l'il bugger pilot jet which sometimes will clog, one or more of 'em. A thin solid wire in a pin vise will make short work of cleaning it. Do NOT drill them out!
