If I put 12v across the fuel pump I should hear ticking. Is that correct?
Where is the fuel pump relay located?

Left scoop for the relay. It has a few safety systems it passes through and the low fuel sensor. Put it into the RES position (left side) for a force on sitation. That gives 5 seconds of power at first key turn on regardless of the fuel level as long as the run/kill button is making good contact. Then as long as it senses a tach signal it will let it keep running.
