Hi folks:

My 1986 Yamaha FZX700 (Fazer) fuel pump is dead. Replacement cost is $300. Now, the VMax fuel pump replacement costs $140.

Other than mounting issues for the VMax pump on the Fazer, is there anything else that would prevent the VMax pump from working on the Fazer?

Thanks very much.

You can use the vmax pump and just reroute the lines (if needed). The mounting is different but a simple bracket will work for that too. The Venture, R1 (carb'd version), and others all use similar fuel pressures and pumps and many of the parts interchange.

Absolutly any carb fuel pump will work on the any ordinary carb setup.
Stock v-max fuel pressure runs about 2.35 to 2.92 psi.
All carb pumps runs quite the same pressure and flow.
