I have this bird which I believe is a Mocking bird that has gone nuts. He tries to get into the house thru the top part of the window where the screen ends and is constantly trying to get into the vehicles painted black with tint on the windows. Now I am a bird lover myself and would just like to see this bird go away, but if not I'm going to have to get someone to blow his ass away. He keeps my vehicle loaded down with bird crap to the point you can't drive either of them to town without total embarrassment. Here is some pics just two days after the vehicles were washed and waxed. Anyone have any ideas ?

Looks like he's pretty comfortable hanging around your place, either keep the vehicles in a garage "if you have one" or a well placed shot from a .22 rifle should do the trick..................Good luck.................Tom.

Wifes Mercedes is in one side of the garage and my Vmax along with other stuff is in the other side, so its full. I don't trust myself enough to shoot the bird off the mirror of the vehicle, might have to call in a specialist like SpecOps13 to do the job.

:rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:I'm having a problem with Wasps. Them Damn Little Suckers are harder than Hell to hit with a rifle. I've resorted to WD-40, Carb Cleaner, Brake Cleaner, Electrical Contact Cleaner, Rolled up News Papers and as of today, a 1 X 4.... I've killed about 250 of them this year.

Birds, I can handle... "One Shot One Kill".:clapping:High Power BB Gun...

Dave

PS: One of my shooting buddies visits La all the time... He's here but never posts anything other than hit and run posts..

guess the bird hates or loves black cars eh........ BB should do the trick

+1

I get birds (pigeons) and squirrels in my yard. I normally don't care too much about the squirrels until they try to get in the house, but the pigeons I don't want around at all.

I have a nice-n-cheap pellet gun that does wonders on them. I picked it up at the sportsman's warehouse for about $30, then put a cheap-o scope on it. It's pretty damn accurate, it suprised me. I took out about 20 squirrels and 60 pigeons since I got it. It shoots both BB's and .177 pellets.

Here it is, you can get it plain for $30, or in kit form (red dot sight, glasses, targets) for about $50. If you want a plinker that definately wont break the bank but still allows you to hit what your aiming at, this is the one.

One of those break over pellet rifles that uses a giant cocked spring to drive a piston, rather than using a co2 cartrdige or "pumped up" air, can be remarkably accurate. I've got a $100 one with a cheap scope on it that shoots to .22 rifle standars out to about 30 yards, have great fun with it in the back yard, my Jack Russell goes ape shit when she see's me with it since she knows she's gonna get her a squirrell to play with after I knock it out of a tree.....

My husky does the same thing. As soon as he see's me grab the rifle, he goes batshit cause he gets to go squirrel hunting.
Eventually I'll get something better, but for the $45 I put out there for the scope and gun that still holding up nicely, I'm finding it hard to put money on something else.

I have a 22 rifle with a scope that I never shot. My neighbor sighted the scope in before my wife gave it to me for Xmas years ago. I set up a target and been practicing . I think I can shoot well enough now to kill the bastard without hitting the vehicle. I will set up tomorrow and give it a try, if I miss it will be off to the glass shop to have the mirror replaced. I'm trying to save SpecOps13 a trip to Louisiana. He would have to buy some of that fuel that contains Ethanol and he would be pissed by the time he got here which might throw his aim off a bit and have the same results that I may have.

If you live in even a semi populated area I think I would opt for the pellet gun rather than the .22.

Those little .22 bullets can go surprisingly far if you happen to miss.
If you are intent on using the .22, might I suggest you try out some CB Caps. They have more than enough "umph" to kill a bird and are pretty accurate out to around 30 yards.

Nice thing is that from a rifle barrel they don't really make that much noise.

You might could try one of those cheap Predator bird replicas to set somewhere close by to try scaring it away first. I'm not sure whether an Owl or a Hawk would work better to scare a mocking bird. They sure do sing purdy and I'm sure you don't really want to kill it permanently.

No I don't really want to kill the bird at all, because I'm a bird and animal lover. I have one of those Predator (Owl) replicas already to keep the birds out of fig and fruit trees I have. I even trap the unwanted squirrels and take them to the park in town when they start to get in the cage of my Blue and Gold parrot which I keep outside. I live on 7 acres of land partially wooded , and when a tree dies in the wooded part I always leave it standing so the red headed woodpecker can come for the picking of his favorite worms/bugs or whatever there is for his taking. I am going to buy some of those low powered bullets that 98Redline suggested and set up to do the unwanted task at hand.
