I made this sissy bar so the wife would feel safe more comfortable on the vmax. I got it done just in time for a 400 mile trip and she loved it. I will make more if there is interest in buying them. I know the other sissy bars out there probably look better, but they are not cheap. That is the reason I built my own. I also like a challenge. :punk: Pics are from my gallery.

Dude - I think that's Awsome !!! - I was measuring my bike earlier today thinking the same thing - I HAVE to be able to make something cheaper that the $300 going rate for a backrest. How much do you think you would charge for one of yours ? I'm very interested & I know you'll get a lot of interest from others as well. Nice job !

A little bit more info about the backrest... I made it to be removable so the bike can have a mostly stock look. The polished plate on the bottom has two stainless screws that can be removed and then you can access the 4 screws that hold the backrest on. The bar that is on my bike has 4 bolts and nuts that hold it on. All the ones I make from now on will have just 4 bolts and the bar itself will be tapped so the seat doesn't have to be removed to take the backrest off. Then the polished plate can be re-installed and it looks normal(no reflector). The polished plate replaces the stock reflector plate.

As for cost... I will gather my supplies and let you guys know tomorrow.

Totally Nice Work Nosboss.

:thumbs up::thumbs up:

You might want to patten that puppy, then you can sell the rights for some serious coinage!

I like it alot! Very nice work Nosboss! I'm also interested in pricing - Can you post a couple of pics of the sissy bar off the bike?

Mike

Great job! I like it and am very interested myself. A few of my girlfriends :banana:have asked when am I going to get one and yours has been the first I like. I'll be watching tomorrow to see what you have to say. Later

I've seen it in person and it does look good!

He is a fabricating machine!

Looks really good! The wife has been on me about getting a backrest, but I personally don't like the idea of one being permanently mounted on my bike. I would be very interested in one also!

I guess you guys like the sissybar.:eusa_dance: I didn't hear back from my material supplier so I am not sure on the price yet. Sorry. I will get a couple built as soon as I can. I took a few pics and I am adding them to my album. That is exactly how it looks without the bar mounted. Its very simple to remove. 6 screws out and 2 back in. :punk:
