thats right my bike dose drive under water if you live in england you will be experancing the freak storms at the moment like me but i drove my vmax to work and went trough what i thought was a puddle ended up to my elbows in water i shit you not
 
hydrolock the motor? if so drain the oil, gas tank, carb bowls, and get it running again asap to burn off the water internally. Even a day or two of sitting waterlogged can cause major damage. Spray wd40 all over everything.

I've worked on more than a few sunken snowmobiles, haha. 2 strokes are a little more easier but same idea.
 
I used to drive my v-max during storm here too but never had big issues except that the bike doesn't run as smooth maybe because it doesn't heat up enough.
 
And I thought we had it bad up here but the floods down your way were terrible.
