Hi. I have some stange noise comming from..somewhere outside the engine, i think and hope so anyway.!

Someone told me that vmax stock pipes are double layer, and in old bikes inner layer can come off/loose and cause "glinging" noise. Is this a fact??

It would be great to have fault in exhaust! ..i'm scared that it's some bearings..but the sound is not constant, starts usually when engine is warm and varies depending of rev's..it seems like the sound sometimes gets quieter or disapere totally when on sidestand

Yes...the factory exhaust is double wall....and the inner wall can come loose.

Is it double all the way until silencers ?

I think it's just the head pipes....but I'm not certain. Maybe someone else will also chime in.

The headers are double walled from top to bottom as far as I know.
The exhaust cans aren't.

Thanks for info guys [emoji3]

Btw..are the inner tubes welded only from both end's of the head pipes..? Or some other way.. im planning to take exhaust off soon and try to repair the rattle sound Is it doable ??

Yes it should be doable as long as it is just a broken weld and the pipes aren't rusted out inside.
A few others have done it in the past.
