I love this thing with the new motor! It's not high hp in today's standards but 500 hp and 514 lbs of torque in a 2600 lb truck is Fun !
I have already put a couple hundred miles on it and running it somewhat hard. I figure if it held up on the dyno it's good to go.lolSounds good, Kyle! How-long for a break-in?
Some interesting reading here.'Break it in slow, it will always be slow.'
Dunno if I believe in that, but once the rings seat, that should be it, I expect. A few hundred miles, and an oil change, and then not red-lining the tach constantly should allow the drivetrain to work reliably.
I have had it for 7 years . It had the original paint when I bought it and zero rustWhat can I say, I luv it! Have you owned the truck long? Up here in Ontario it's a rust belt.
I have always broke them in pretty hard ! I figure after the Dyno time it should be pretty good. I have not been giving it a whole lot of slack. Some interesting reading here.
A diametrically opposite view is on the attachment albeit relating to a air cooled motor.
