What is this ?

Hi to all, I am in the process of tearing down the rear end of my first gen 1200, with the swing arm removed at the rear of the centre stand there is a piece of metal that can be moved one way to the left, i cannot find exactly what its meant to do, i have searched both workshop and owners manual and no mention of it appears anywhere. I have posted 2 pics looking downwards, as you can see the exhaust left and right and final drive on left. Its got me baffled !

As far as I know it's not OE, support for aftermarket collector/ silencers?

Yep it's not stock ! Something someone added for exhaust or something

It looks like a suspension link from a sport bike, mono shock. Just not sure why it’s there.

Maybe some sort of center jack stand support piece.

What kind of fender did it have on it? Maybe a support for a non-stock fender at the bottom leading edge.
