Hi folks:

Hope you're all doing o.k. and staying warm.

I have a question for you:

Why would ONLY my "RES" switch be working to activate the fuel pump? The "ON" side of the switch in the right handlebar-mounted unit is not triggering the fuel pump. (Keep in mind, I do have a full tank of gasoline on the bike.)

I don't mind this terribly, but I'd really like to know why this is occurring.

FYI, I HAVE just installed a brand-new fuel pump trigger/regulator thingamabob (found it on ebay), but this made no difference.

Any suggestions from any of you?

Thanks muchly.

Pretty sure this has come up before and I believe one guy found that the fuel light bulb had blown and that was the reason for the behavior on his bike.
It seemed crazy to me then as it does now but I believe that is what was claimed:confused2:

That would do it - the feed for the circuit goes through the bulb before heading off to the level sensor.
If the bulb blows then as far as the fuel pump relay is concerned you are on reserve.

Correct. Also, if the wrong year cluster is used this will cause the same thing.
