    Rear axle washer location?

The proper/stock position of the washer is between the caliper bracket and the shoulder of the axle. If you have an aftermarket wheel/tire combo that has interference issues with the swingarm, some guys do the "washer swap" to provide additional clearance. The washer is placed between the...

Bought a second bike, whatcha think?

“New” ‘86 - Multiple Issues (carbs, Vboost, oil leaks

Send Sean an email asking about a valve adjustment loaner kit. He had a couple floating around. They have tons of shims, the bucket tool and a magnet. He will sell you some OEM gaskets too. There is a great write up in the how to section on adjusting the valves.

    Barnett Clutch Question

Per the lvlhead site *The friction plates are marked on two ears. A single cut on one ear, and a double cut 180 degrees from there. All similar friction plate ears should line up with the indicator of the clutch boss. If clutch drag is noticed after reassembly, Yamaha recommends to rotate...

    Looking for help

Open up the engine and pull the transmission yourself. Remove transmission and ship. Check this link. Its for a venture but the process on a vmax is nearly identical. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?508-Second-Gear-Repair
