    Replacement drain cock assembly

I have a badly corroded drain cock assembly (Yamaha part no. 1FK-12560-01-00) that's causing a leak after re-assembly. I found this one on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-VMX1200-VMAX-V-Max-2WE-Lower-Metal-Water-Pipe-Drain-/310646307089 But at that price, I'm wondering if it...

    Measuring engine speed

I bought the Kindle version of the Cyclepedia manual for the V-Max (the images in the Haynes manual are not very clear). There are a couple of places, including carb sync (see attached), where it refers to using an inductive tachometer to measure the engine speed. The Haynes manual doesn't seem...

    Lane splitting

I see folk riding "Adeventure" bikes (KTM/BMW) with the giant metal pannier boxes filtering around here. Makes me wince a bit because I've come close to clipping cars with a pannier (plastic, thankfully) passing through stationary holiday traffic.

    Lane splitting

Do it all the time here in the UK. It was the reason I got a bike, again, for my commute. The section of motorway I had to travel on was frequently gridlocked so I could still move at 40mph+ when the cagers were stationary. We call it "filtering" over here, and it's very common, but...

    To Be Young Again........

Noted. Will see what I can find. I haven't write reached the point of watching that old George Formby movie about the TT :-)

    To Be Young Again........

Thanks for the recommendation. Just watched it. Seeing Malcolm Smith again after watching On Any Sunday was very cool. He's a real inspiration. Itching (literally) to heal up and get on my bike.

    To Be Young Again........

I've been laid up after having my appendix removed list week, and watching biker movies and docs. Last night I watched TT Closer To The Edge. Great watch, highly recommend. Road racers are mad :-)

    Sport Max Seat

Do you have a link to that group? There are multiple hits for Yamaha V-max, none of which seem right.

    Tapatalk sync problems

Just tried out Tapatalk HD for Android (the one for tablets) and that seems to work better, but cost me again. Oh well.

    Tapatalk sync problems

This is all posts, as far as I can tell. Makes Tapatalk basically useless on this forum :-(

    Tapatalk sync problems

Does anybody else have problems with Tapatalk forgetting (or not syncing) which posts have been read? I read them in Tapatalk, but on refreshing the forum in the app the same threads are unread again with exactly the same posts being unread. The website never sees that I have read anything in...

    Replacement "headstock infill covers"

Can you let me know price+shipping to the UK? Slow shipping is fine, it's not urgent.

You guys are the best :-)

    Replacement "headstock infill covers"

I'm looking for some covers that are missing on my '91 V-Max, and mostly failing to even determine their proper name. The previous owner went to a parts centre and they pored over the microfiche without success. They are covers just above the air scoops, and are plastic (I think). The only thing...

    A Quiet Exhaust ??

I've never ridden with one, nor been in one, but something about seeing one on the road always makes me smile Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

    A Quiet Exhaust ??

That bends my mind, a little. That has the potential for a lot of fun at the expense of others. What kind of sidecar? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

    Stud and collar woes

I have a 1991 VMax that I'm replacing the downpipes on (rusted original one) and I have run into some trouble. I'm running out of ideas so any thoughts would be appreciated. Out of 4 studs, the first one came out with the hex nut (probably the best possible outcome), the second sheared off...
