On the front of the battery box is a roll over valve to keep gas from running out. Is this what you are talking about that was melted ? If so it should be replaced.

I just put a new stator in my bike a couple of weeks ago & my readings were 10.4 on each. At that point I don't think my old stator was bad it ended up being the voltage regulator. Dave

I would say your # 1 is the right answer don't see that the oil from the diff. would make it up there. Dave

I saw on YouTube were they said to use Silicone Spray. It said that a lot of times they will shrink a little. I sprayed them up good & worked it in with my fingers. left them sit awhile & they when right in.

Just something for you to think about. I was looking at that thermostat over the winter. The one thing that came to mine is the bike was running at 206 f. now it's going to run at 166 f. 40 degrees less. I was concerned about tolerances being too loose maybe not. Just some food for thought. :ummm:

That should do the job. Now I have a question for you how did you get those stub pipes out of the main tubes. I tried with out wrecking them the only thing I didn't try was heat.

If you find that you want the fan to come on sooner then 195 I have one that I tried first & it's to low for my 180 thermostat. Let me know.

Read what I replied to the first quote in the middle here. Not the best on a computer. Now reread my original post.

I cut the cross over pipe off as close as I could to the main pipe. Then grind main to make it as flat as possible. Then take the long piece of cross over pipe & cut it in half the long way. Take each piece & cut to fit over each hole & weld on paint & good to go. :eusa_dance:

How do you know when to use your switch???

What # thermostat do you run because the only time my fan comes on is when I sit in traffic other then that it's never on.

The cross over in the rear as I see it was in the stock muffler. Also all after market exhaust that I 've seen does not have a cross over. So why I had the exhaust off over the winter I thought I try it. Also I had the Cobra's on before I took the cross over out & it runs better now then it did...

Dragmaxster I'm just curious why would a manual switch that you have to keep a eye on the temp gauge be better then with the right set up all you have to do is sit back & ride. :ummm: Dave
