Thanks Rusty, that's what I thought. Now I have to take it back to the shop and have them flip it. The thread pattern look backwards too. but I want by the directional arrows on the tire in its current position, which is backwards I now realize.

Dman--- You are absolutely right. I contacted tech support for Triumph and was told the front tire is a Bias. It is amazing to me that everywhere I look online gave the same wrong information. This is a MAJOR typo as you said.

I have checked two other Triumph info sights and they also state130/90 R 16 on the front so I don't think this is a typo. I have read most of your post on this subject Firemedic. I think Triumph must have done something to make these two work together.

The guy I bought my bike from tried to find out the production number too, since the plate was missing when he got it. He said that there were also 2000 Vmax's made for Canada but I have not been able to verify this.

So what did you find out ? The last 6 numbers on mine are 089223. Could it be that it is the first four numbers ( 0892) and not the last four ?

Just checked my vin. number and could not find a sequence of numbers you say. Is the serial number different than the vin. number? If yes, where would the serial number be ? I found a manufacturing date of 6/2004 so it should be in the first 2000.

OK, my chrome tank badge has no number engraved in it. It does look like something was glued on it at one time. Here's a pic.

Read this post with interest because I own a 2005. Every poster seems to know there number but none that I read say where this number is located. I'd like to know my number but do not know where to look.
