    Pea shooter

Guess it depends which magazine you read at the time. I owned a V65 and it beat the Vmax in the 1/4 mile in 1985. Still have the magazine somewhere.

everything went smooth, the carbs were close on the left (1&2) and also close on the right (3&4) but way off from side to side. Sinc'ed everything together and it purrs like a kitten. My idle is a little low, where is the idle screw ? ( found the air/fuel screws and adjusted about two turns...

I'm doing a carb sinc tomorrow and I forget which is the master carb #1 or #2------ I tried a search of this section but could not find the info. trouble re-mounting rear wheel

Thanks Alorio1 Put it in gear, rocked it around a little and it went in. Guess I was just rotating both sets of teeth at the same rate. Thanks to all you guys, don't know what I would do without this sight.

    trouble re-mounting rear wheel

are you talking about the rubber washer ? That washer I have on the pinion side and it seems to be covering about 1/3 of the teeth. Is this in the wrong place ?

    trouble re-mounting rear wheel

This is supposed to be easy right ? Tire came off OK. Had the rim polished. I'm trying to remount but the drive shaft/ rim gears are not seating right. I've cleaned and greased everything but can not get the tire to seat properly. I've rotated and jiggled the tire, nothing seems to help. even...

    radials on stock rims.

guess I will just stick with bias ply tires until someone makes a 150 or 170 R15 MC tire. Just can't justify the high cost of the suggestions here but I do appreciate the feed back.

    radials on stock rims.

did not know it was a tire size issue., thanks. When you say "convert the wheel" do you mean change the stock 15 " rime to an 18" rim somehow ? or buy an 18' aftermarket rim ?

    radials on stock rims.

I have read that you can not put radial tires on the stock Vmax rims, why ??? I remember when radial tires came out in the 60's and I was able to put them on stock auto rims. I would like to put radial tires on when it comes time to change ( about 2000 mi) I have also read that the stock...

    front fork overfill ?

a lot of good ideas guys. Like the idea of an adjustable lift which Harbor Freight isn't. Will look for an adjustable lift. I'm 230# so that is not the issue. Thanks to everyone for there input.

    front fork overfill ?

I looked at that lift at HF, might buy it. the headers are so close to the frame rails I don't know if it will work.

    front fork overfill ?

It's not simple for me, I have no center stand due to custom exhaust. From the video, I do not understand why I could not remove the top cap and air fill port and then push down on the handlebars and let the oil just run out the top, then syphone the rest to 4.8 '' down with the fork...

    front fork overfill ?

Don't quite know what you mean by bottom bolt. Watched the video, thanks, but it looks like the oil did not come out until a long alan wrench was used after much disassembly ( tire, brakes, top cap and snap ring. Is there just a drain bolt that is easy access ?

    front fork overfill ?

I just bought a 2005 Vmax. The guy I bought it from said he had just replaced leaking front fork seals. When I road it home I was surprised how stiff it road. I watched the front forks and they did not compress at all over bumps. It has progressive springs but even they should compress, right ...

    Vmax Battery replacement 101

LOL I think so. I have run in to stupid employees at Pep Boys before. They must hire anyone at minimum wage and no training. I'm sure if I asked a question about video games he would have extensive knowledge.
