    Clutch never fully disengages

The spring retainer bolts don't have to be very tight. I think they call for less than 10ftlbs of torque, and if tightened too tightly, the OEM bolts are soft enough that they stretch and/or snap off easily. But, yes, when tightened down properly, they would be holding the spring retainer...

2nd Amendment Rights in Danger Again

I hope not. If they trace the serial #'s, I'd hate to get tangled up in a fishy lawsuit.

    Clutch never fully disengages

beginning from the outside of the bike: 7 friction plates. 6 clutch plates. Then the retainer ring....followed by another friction plate - if I remember correctly. Does the bike have the OEM handlebar master & lever?

2nd Amendment Rights in Danger Again

I must not have good gun control (at least not all the time), because I could never seem to hit the proverbial broad side of a barn with Shala's Chinese made hunk of junk SKS. Took us about 12 tries at a local gun shop to get two magazines that would both fit into it AND fire off all 20 rounds...

    58.167 MPGs, I Like

I appreciate you having shared your ride experience with the forum. I wasn't implying you lied John. Since you state such fantastic mileages, previously unheard of here in Vmaxland, I simply thought you must have made a mistake somewhere in your math. My bike's odo is off in the opposite...

That stuff is all over ebay, both new & used. Or you can give Sean Morley an email at [email protected] to see what he may have in stock. http://www.ebay.com/itm/94-Yamaha-VMX-12-1200-VMX1200-V-Max-VMax-clutch-master-cylinder-/311635686644?hash=item488eef34f4:g:KyEAAOSwepJXYWEE&vxp=mtr...

Sorry Brutha, your #'s don't add up. You say there should be 50 miles (GPS) between those two stations, yet you are using "(146 + 7.5 = 153.5) as your mileage to do the mpg computations. Then by reverse calculating, I come up with you having only used 2.51 gallons of fuel to arrive at your...

    Installing that pesky centerstand spring!

Again, lest ye remain a bit confused laddy, please go back and re-read THE DATE STAMP on Miles' post #1, and/or this thread's title. Miles' thread dates back to 08/08/14. Miles didn't start a new thread on center stands recently, you merely posted up on it as if he did, for some reason...

Next time on that route, try running it the uphill direction to see what your mileage will be.

    This is a goofy one!

Bill, if memory serves, there are two or three grounding wires that terminate under a bolt to the right side frame under the seat and right outside the battery box area. You might check/clean those as well while you're re-doing grounds. Never know.
