    Effing Thieves!

Shala & I ran into one of those rare good guys many years ago when returning home from a trip to the Ozarks mtns while riding my Venture Royale. My throttle cable broke, and as I pulled to a stop on the shoulder, I hadn't even gotten the kickstand down before a good guy in a small pickup...

    Trump Vs Our Current President?

Well, good to hear you are, at least, still standing, if not completely worn out. Hopefully, your job stuff will work out, and become more suitable for some 'normal' time off for you soon too. And I'd like to point out that since this year's rally is on a holiday weekend, you wouldn't...

    Effing Thieves!

With all due respect, yes, I know full well what you were referring to, even though this is what you typed - And as I previously mentioned, the stock vmax helmet locks weren't produced yet when I installed locks on my 85. So, I guess, either way, you AREN'T the only 1985 Vmax owner with a...

    Trump Vs Our Current President?

ditto. You haven't been on much lately. Are you considering coming to Eureka Springs again this year?

    Need new air filter

Doesn't say anything about which one catches the most cylinder killing dust. I'll put my money on a tie between the stock air box w/OEM filter and the stock air box w/K&N's installed, because I'm fairly confident that the stock air box w/o any filter would probably let our Maxes inhale any dust...

    Effing Thieves!

I take it you're not a Clinton fan, huh? :rofl_200: I've had two(2) helmet locks on my 1985 since, oh...let's see........I'd say since about 1985. His-n-hers. :whistlin: Mounted mine on the left & right side of the handlebars back then because the Yamaha frame mounted ones hadn't been...

    Effing Thieves!

I always leave my helmets with my bikes when I am out and about - LOCKED TO THE HANDLEBARS. Many years ago, I saw a friends' helmets get stolen. He & his GF had to make their way 160 miles home without the head protection, and also hoping they didn't run into any non-understanding cops...

    Need new air filter

I'd add my air filter opinion here too, ...........but I'm ignoring you. :biglaugh: Seriously, IMO, I've had my '85 since new, and to date, have only used the OEM replacement parts, and couldn't be more pleased with the results. I don't ride much in dusty conditions, and so, the OEM filter...

    Rear Stand

It doesn't look like it would cradle the spools worth a darn as is, but, if someone could fab up different lift points for it..................................

    clutch fluid leaking somewhere

I'm going with NO, to that question. I'm thinking you may have two problems here. 1) as stated before, you have a leak while riding (only) and it is being blown on the hwy as you use the clutch riding. 2) When you re-bled & refilled your system before parking it for the winter, you had...

    Jeff Got It Right

Jeff Foxworthy hits the nail on the head. Not sure what you other fellas are talking about. My first name is Justin, but I always do get it right, except for those two times when everyone thought I had it wrong, but was proven I only forgot the right answer - momentarily.

    Rim shot?

I've seen tire/wheels bouncing down the interstate a couple of times over the years, but never had one attack me, and both times I was in a car or truck...never while riding. (knock on wood)

    Getting to know "The Donald"

Ya'll might laugh about being covered in fork oil, but has it ever really happened to you? lol I'll never forget the first time I changed fork oil in my '79 XS1100....took out the 1st little Phillips screw in it's lower fork.....without having the bike on it's center stand. I had no good...

    Wrong------------

+1 Sean. I always use a pressure washer on my 09, and so does Shala. ZERO problems in the years we've had ours. I will say, however, that with our air boxes removed, and the big air kits with K&N's installed, I will shy away from the small area between the faux cover and scoops where the...
