Bummer. I thought you were able to get the rust rinsed out finally, Barry. It's hard to believe anything big enough to clog jets could make it through a good fuel filter, but it sure seems to do that - a lot - on these Vmaxes.

Only the 1st flash is full cost. Each time (if any) you make different changes in the future, and wish your already flashed ECU to match your new changes, you pay only around $45 reflash fee, if I remember the amount correctly.

Congrats on cheap insurance. But beware that there's no "fine print" dictating how many total miles you can put on it in a year, or when/where you can be riding it. I know some antique auto policies will try to limit to just to/from car shows & other like events, and also under 500 miles per year.

The manual I have says it should. I must have gotten hold of a version of the manual meant for a newer than 85 Vmax. And after over 31 years of riding the ole' 85, I gotta confess, I never look at it's dash panel when starting. I usually just wait until I hear the end of the fuel pump...
