weekend ride & racing

There were 8 of us on various bikes that went on a 5 hour ride this weekend. I was surprised that I got the best gas millage. I figured I would have gotten the worst......go figure. My son rode my Indian cheiften . After the ride he bought it from me !! He absolutely loved it. I found it way to heavy for me,....Im a little guy and he is huge.
The first guy to challenge me was on a big 1500 Vulcan cruiser with after-market pipes & Air cleaner,.....It was an easy win. The next guy was on a Victory 8 Ball with a Big boar Kit,......another easy win.
What kinda surprised me was 2 other guys racing,...one was on a 1300 V-star cruiser and the other was a 2016 Harley Fat Bob with a 103cubic engine "bone stock".....the v-star beat him top end LOL. which was about 170kms.
We all had a great time and came home safe.

I just talked to jim 'owner of the Harley fat boy'.... he's Not impressed with his new bike. Said it topped out at 168kms. He found out that the 2016 fat boy does Not have the 103 HO engine like the other bikes,..instead ,you get a low compression gutless version. The flywheels are pressed together rather than having a PIN,...and if you scream your engine,...the flywheels "come out of true" and cause the engine to vibrate and take out the exterior bearings in the engine case. They also have heating issues,..so Harleys fix was to have the REAR Cylinder "shut OFF" at idle !! That's insane.
No wonder all the 2016 fatboys are on sale for $14,000 brand new. They are dumping them on the public.!
Jim is heading back to Harley to see if he can get out of the deal. I wish him luck.
