!!!Working fuel gauge, FOR REAL this time!!!

That makes sense. But here is a novel idea... Since the light isnt lit when the small amount of current is flowing and it has a resistance of 8 ohms then an 8 ohm resistors should do the trick What I am going to do is get a potentiometer and slowly dial down the resistance until I see the fuel...

    38 Slow Jets

Dave, Vmax626, and I just put some 42.5s in his bike. He said it completely got rid of his lean popping on decel. I am going to put some in my bike over the weekend and see how it goes.

    Good Day Yesterday

Dave, Vmax626, came over and we had a mini carb rebuild day for his bike. Found a couple of things wrong with his carbs, nothing major. Changed out his pilots to 42.5s plus he had the wrong style jets in the first place Replaced all his mains with 162.5s Reset all his floats, they were all a...

!!!Working fuel gauge, FOR REAL this time!!!

After doing some calculation I see where you came up with the 50 ohm resistor. 12vdc system with a 3 watt bulb will draw .25 amps of current and 48 ohms total resistance. When you measure the resistance of the bulb it comes out at 8 ohms Why the difference??? I think the one BIG thing we are...

!!!Working fuel gauge, FOR REAL this time!!!

Same size wire that the OEM gauges come with. I think it is 18 or 16 gauge wire Plus I tested the resistance before and after the install of the resistor and it came out as expected. I think because the 50 ohm is still too much resistance.

!!!Working fuel gauge, FOR REAL this time!!!

Well another set back The 50 ohm resistor did not do the trick to allow enough current for the relay to keep the fuel pump on. Will have to try a lower one. Think I will try an 8 ohm resistor just like the original bulb

!!!Working fuel gauge, FOR REAL this time!!!

Yeah, R&D is never simple. Then again I am a rookie at electronics so I am making some rookie mistakes. At least I am learning all the tricks so if anyone else does this they can learn from my mistakes :clapping:

!!!Working fuel gauge, FOR REAL this time!!!

Update Ok if you guys are going to use a 3 terminal sender, Pos, Neg, Send you are going to have to wire your power supply and negatives for the gauge and the sender to the same spots. In other words I used an add a fuse and spliced in 2 wires, one going to the sender and one going to the...

    440's, worth the money?

Yes and get rid of the 11.5 and go back to stock 13 You can set more preload and help with the under spung. And have more travel to absorb a bit more on the bumbs I ride 2 up with my girl all the time and the 440s, in her own words, worth every penny from the 412s I am 240, she is 120, so...
