    Rear master cylinder recomendations

So I have discovered (for cars): That a disc brake system requires 900-1200 psi ( 0.63-0.84 kg per sq.mm) to operate efficiently. ie, this is the pressure in the hydraulic fluid. For a road car the effort applied by the driver at the brake pedal is about 40lbs (18kg) of effort. The RR brake...

    Rear master cylinder recomendations

Firstly : Fire-medic. A big thank you for the help you've been giving me. It really is very much appreciated. And this chart has pointed me in the right direction & I'm in that rabbit hole now. It helps explain why the rear brakes feel so spongy. I've no idea what master cylinder is on there...

I'm liking those wheel colours. How did you do the pinstripe?

    Marving incorrect ? & mounting bolt washers ? (2Q's)

Good news, just a bit of brute force pushing & pulling got the rear headers the right distance apart. Bad news is the Marving crosspipe/collection box fouls part of the swingarm. Good news not by much so should be fixable.

    Rear master cylinder recomendations

Thanks. One piston per caliper. I think about 30mm. 9.5" discs. 15" rims.

    Rear master cylinder recomendations

Yes me again with my '98 ******* trike. I think I need a replacement rear master cylinder as what's on there atm is off ??? & weeping fluid (I know how it feels). My Qs are: Is the OEM unit considered good or prone to problems? Would a new 'universal' be any better? Any other aftermarket...

Exhaust header clamp nuts - what type?

Good to know a hex nut will fit. Cheapest OEMs I can find £5 ea.

Exhaust header clamp nuts - what type?

Looking to replace the TDM850 (?) front headers that are currently on my *******ised trike. They're held on with standard M8 hex nuts. My manual shows allen nuts (cylinders with an allen socket). I've found one video showing the rear exhaust header nuts which are these allen nuts. Just checking...

    Rattling Noise on Left Side

I asked my friend about just this thing on my Vmax. He listened to it & said exactly the same thing as Kingmel, it's the clutch basket & most bikes make that sound or similar. I trust him on this. He's been a biker & mechanic for 40+ yrs. It going away when you pull in the clutch I'd say is...

    Hesitation/Miss when it's windy

Nothing should attach here. I believe this is to drain any liquid that gets in the box.

    Marving incorrect ? & mounting bolt washers ? (2Q's)

I'm about ready to hang myself over this damn trike. (1998 Canadian Vmax) My trike currently has some cobbled together yammy TDM850 cans so I bought a Marving exhaust rear end, second hand, that was supposedly for a gen 1 Vmax. Just tried a test fit & it wont. Ignoring the wrong front headers...

1990 Gen 1 - sudden power loss and white exhaust smoke on left side

I had white smoke from mine recently. It was petrol getting into the exhaust unburnt. Culprit was needle jet unseated & visibly protruding into the carb venturi in conjunction with a literal pile of crap in carb #1. Easy enough to check the needle jet, just take the airbox off & look. You could...

starter/kill switch were to buy? and strange grinding noise from starter

During my recent fuel pump issues etc. I had a moment when my starter was making all sorts of horrible noises. It was low voltage from the battery, due the high number & prolonged attempts at starting. Charged the battery & things went back to normal. As you're saying your starter button is...

    Why a Vmax?

I just make the cut for a Baby-boomer ;) Mine's a '98 Canadian vers someone imported to the UK in mid 2000s. I didn't convert it myself but I am having to re-do & fix a lot of issues (some, down right dangerous). English back axle (Mk1 ford escort). See pic's in my above post. Edit. Just saw...

    Why a Vmax?

The swing arm as it was with copious amounts of filler to hide shittiest welding I've ever seen. Straightening the twisted swing arm. Finished swingarm.

    Why a Vmax?

Not had a bike in 30 yrs (CB500T with sidewinder sidecar - driven on car license). In general m/bikes & I don't gell. Massive & deeply unpleasant change in my life got me thinking - How about a trike? They'd always intrigued me. Spent time looking but nothing grabbed my attention until I saw the...

    Front tire life.

Not from experience but YouTube re. front vibration. Poorly set up rear shocks can do that & also together with certain tyre pressures (varies with bike). Also something no else has talked about checking, If you can get the front wheel off the ground just spin it & check there is no wobble in...

Replacement fuel pump bracket swap pt2

I can only say from my limited experience. 1) I was already experiencing fuel flow problems (& still have carb / fuel mix problems). I could see there was feeble fuel flow through the fuel filter. 2) the points had already stuck together once & were charred black on inspection. I cleaned them...
